OUR PARTS

Many mechanics know the frustration of ill-fitting or poorly made parts. The old saying “its a 10 cent part holding back a million dollar operation” definitely applies to the world of custom motorcycles. At Motomato we have the freedom to take this matter directly into our own hands. By designing and manufacturing our own parts and components we sidestep the dream killers and let our imagination take over. Have a look at these components for the Motomato R80 project.

PEGS

R-series BMW’s are bulky machines with lines only a mother could love. In the effort to improve or streamline these bikes its easy to go over the high side and lose any sense of proportion and functionality. Our new pegs address the issue with grace: they as easy on the foot as they are on the eye.

EXHAUST NUTS

For 50 years BMW used an exhaust nut which exhausted us with frustration, so we took matters into our own hands and created a fresh take on this pesky nut-job. Take a look and see if you’d like some for your own bike.

SIDE PANELS

Motomatos are deliberately designed as „closed“ machines. The external components intentional draw the observer’s eye to form one point of attention to another. For the R80 side panels, we used stainless steel blanks from an older R60. These were the only ones we found that offered enough material for the necessary modifications. Its simple: you shorten them, drill out the slots and files, adjust the outer contours, weld on additional metal sheets, cut out the inner contours and re-weld, grind, clean, polish. Snap! YGWYS
